Event:  Bee Basics - When Your Bees Arrive

Seems everyone is talking about bee keeping!  Are you a new beekeeper? Thinking of getting bees? Here’s a great chance to spend some time with an experienced beekeeper.  Come watch Farmer Shaun install a nucleus colony at the Community Garden.  See different styles of hives, ask questions, learn some “do’s and don’ts”!  We’ll also talk about the bee life cycle and what stages the hive will go through in its first season.  A great learning experience for all ages!  This event is free!

Grab your mat, a towel, some water and get ready to feel alive & connected to the Earth! Join us for Yoga in the Garden!  Rain cancels. Suggested donation $5 per class.

Event:  Mother’s Day at the Urban Farm

Date & Time:     Sunday, May 13th 9 am - 2 pm

Location: The Urban Farm at Lafayette, 31 Hazel Street

Some folks like to go to brunch on Mother’s Day, we like to get dirty.  If a day of gardening in the sun sounds like a good time to you, why not join us at the Farm for a work party?  OR mom can send Dad and the Kids to the farm - they can spend the day working while you stay home and relax in peace!  Either way, it is going to be a fun time at the farm and all are welcome to join.  This event is free!

Event:  Tyke Time! For children ages 3-6 years of age and their caregivers

Date & Time:     Friday, June 22nd through August 31st from 10 - 11 am

Location: The Urban Farm at Lafayette, 31 Hazel Street

Summer is here and what better way to spend time with your little one than an hour at the farm?  Join Farmer Shaun and friends as we spend an hour learning about life on our farm.  The Urban Farm at Lafayette was designed with little people in mind, so your’s will feel right at home. Each week’s Tyke Time we’ll present a new, seasonal theme.  This is a “mommy and me” type class; a caregiver must be present with the child for the duration of the activity.  Pre-registration is required and a $5 donation per child is suggested.  Your may register via your pay-pal donation.

Event:  On the Farm Produce Sales

Date & Time:     Starting Saturday June 30th from 9 am - 2 pm

Location: The Urban Farm at Lafayette, 31 Hazel Street

The harvest is starting to come in - and you can get your share of it!  Come by the Urban Farm for Produce Sales on Saturdays throughout the growing season (starting June 30th... till then our food goes to the Morris School District kids!).  You’ll be matched up with a volunteer to go through the Farm, selecting your produce - it doesn’t get fresher than that!  Plus, our prices are great so that everyone can take part in enjoying fresh, local, organic produce.  Look for our Thursday sales to start in mid-July.
