We're proud to reduce food waste with backyard composting!
We are pleased to have reached the goal for 36 units in partnership with five local towns to sell a 100-gallon backyard composter at a discounted price ($99 vs $127 retail on Good Ideas site). Thank you for your support of this fundraiser for Grow It Green. The order will be made and the units will need to be picked up on Saturday, May 14th from 10 am -2 pm at Grow It Green's Urban Farm (31 Hazel Street, Morristown) during our annual seedling sale.

Why Is Composting Important Anyway?
When we throw away our biodegrade waste -- everything from peels and coffee grinds to grass and garden clippings -- it ends up in a landfill, where it decomposes anaerobically (without oxygen) and releases methane, a highly potent greenhouse gas.
Aerobic composting is the decomposition of organic matter using microorganisms that require oxygen. This process converts this same waste to a useful soil amendment while reducing greenhouse gas equivalent emissions by more than 50 percent!
COMPOST WIZARD ECO SQUARE
The Compost Wizard Eco Square is a large standing compost bin. It's one of the few standing bins that requires minimal, tool-free assembly. Created using innovative Polish design, the entire unit snaps together in a matter of minutes. Once assembled, the unit can sit in a garden or in an out-of-the-way location. Simply add composting materials and let nature do the rest. Composting will take anywhere from 1-12 months depending on environmental factors and materials added.
